Pindos Mountains Greece climbing

The Pindos Mountains are located on the west coast of Greece near the island of corfu. The Pindos mountains are mainly limestone and contain gorges and sheer peaks rising to 8,500 feet. In spring there are lots of wild flowers and in autumn the colours of orange and brown adorn the bushes and trees.

To go Climbing in the Pindos Mountains you will not need a visa if you are from the UK or the USA. The climate is mediterranean and make sure to take good walking boots with you, else light clothing is fine for trekking in the Pindos Mountains. You might also need a sweater or a light anorak for cool evenings or the occasional rain fall.

The greek unit of currency is the drachma. Bring travellers cheques or a credit card and enough cash to last you the remote places.
