The historic battle of hastings is recreated by crazy people who dress up in the original battle dress. Saxon and norman tent villages are erected. The soldiers put on chain mail. It is very heavy. Someone plays King Harold and a rich man would have a sword. The chain mail stops a killing blow and prevents wounds which can kill later. The re-enactment takes place and the normans and saxons fight to the death, well pretend death. William of france won and took over the crown of england

the coast of croatio has thousands of islands and the best way to see it is by a yacht. A yacht is the perfect adriatic cruising boat. This spectacular coast is as safe as anywhere in the mediterranean. Go south into the islands and reefs and they are the most beautiful in europe.
The best way to visit some of the more remote islands is by sea kayak. In the summer the best way is to sleep out on the shore of the sea.
day of dead festival - mexico
31 october is the day of the dead festival in mexico. pazcuaro wakes up to a very spooky visitor, the skinny lady. She is their favourite plaything and their everloving plaything. first November is the day of the dead in mexico, offerings are taken to the graves of their dead relatives. The most popular offerings are sugar and sweet stuff. The dead have a sweet tooth of course. Before midnight, the people take a boat to the cemeteries on the islands and give the offerings. Spirits come out of their graves to commune with the living, families sit with their ancestors all through the night eating and praying. At the end of the night, the relatives that are dead go back to their graves
munich beer fest
Ocoberfest lasts twelve days and people come from around the world. Some idiot thought up the idea of combining beer and amusement rides. Beer is consumed in huge quantities. Barmaids make good money if they survive the duration of the octoberfest. tourists come for the beer and the atmosphere. Some people come every year, there is a lot of alcohol drinking going on. The party goes on all day and night. The octoberfest brings millions of dollars into the city of munich
newfoundland cycling
The vikings landed here centuries ago, the viking trail goes from deer lake to l’anse aux meadows. If cycling along the coast, wear a helmet and there are lots of hills so gear down and use that granny gear. Going down the hills you might get up to speeds of 70 kph. The roads are in great condition but you have to pace yourself.
