Perisher Blue Skies

Huge blue skies and plenty of sunshine!

We have had a week of blue skies and plenty of sunshine, however the Bureau is forecasting more snow for the weekend. Very chilly nights, with temperatures as low as -15 degrees Celsius, has allowed for lots of snowmaking in Perisher Blue and has kept the natural cover in good shape.  On average, more than 80 groomed runs are now being prepared each morning for your riding pleasure, so now is the time to make a visit. Chilly nights have allowed for lots of snowmaking.

5 Good reasons to get out of the city and head to the snow!

If you live in a city and you’re sick of the smog, tired of the hustle and bustle or feeling overworked, now is the perfect time to get out of town and head to the snow! Don’t miss your chance to breathe in the crisp, fresh mountain air and enjoy all that the Australian alpine areas have to offer. Whether you want to play hard or just chill-out, there is plenty to do both on and off the slopes this winter. Need a breather? There are plenty of places to stop and refuel around the mountain.

Join the Perisher Historical Society!

This organisation has been set up to capture the rich historical tapestry of the Perisher Range. It was launched at a dinner at Snow Gums Restaurant in the Perisher Valley Hotel on Saturday over the June Long Weekend. It was a great success with 103 guests in attendance, many from the early days of the development of the Perisher Range. The Society will be publishing regular newsletters with progress and happenings, and are keen to receive your stories from the early tmes right up to the present. You can email stories or exciting anecdotes to phsadminATiprimusDOTcom.au or for further information call 0417 887 475.
