The main event is the carnival but there will also be children’s entertainment for the kids. There will be free camping on the site at the gresford showground on Saturday night. Entry will be twelve dollars for adults and will be six dollars for kids under twelve and also for pensioners. A family pass will cost you thirty dollars and there are special rates for buses.

Lostock Dam

The Lostock Dam Caravan Park is holding the Country Music Shinding on the 13th September 2008. They have nine acres of grassy, shaded spaces. The spillway feeds the Paterson River which is on three sides of the Lostock Dam Caravan Park. You can enjoy fishing, boating, windsurfing, canoeing, swimming, four wheel driving, bushwalking and bird watching. Campfires are allowed as well as pets. There is a kiosk and amenities and non-powered sites cost from fifteen dollars a night. The park is also reasonably quiet which allows you a lot of freedom. Batemans Bay

There are many things to do at Bateman’s Bay on the South Coast of New South Wales in Australia. Travel via the coast road and the Seacliff Bridge to Batemans Bay for a great holiday. Cruise the Clyde River, visit Turos Heads, Narooma and Bermagui, take a guided tour of Mogo Zoo, which is the home of the rare snow leopard, visit old Mogo Town, and Malua Bay. Then return home via Braidwood and Goulburn.

The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Festival

26cm of Snow Fun!
 
 The predicted cold front has moved through bringing more than 26cm of snow in the past 48 hours. The Resort has been completely blanketed in all things white and fluffy, and with consistently low overnight temperatures there has been plenty of opportunities to crank up the snowmaking guns. The accumulated snowfall is now sitting at 1.7m! The terrain parks are also taking shape. Don’t forget Night Skiing on Front Valley is tonight 6.30 to 9.30pm! A thick layer of snow half buried lots of machinery after a blizzard hit the resort! (21 July) 
 
 
Perisher Historical Society!
 
  The Perisher Historical Society has been set up to capture the rich historical tapestry of the Perisher Range. It was launched at a dinner at Snow Gums Restaurant in the Perisher Hotel on Saturday of the June Long Weekend. It was a great success with 103 guests in attendance, many from the early days of the development of the Perisher Range. The Society will be publishing regular newsletters with progress and happenings, and are keen to receive your stories from the early days right up to the present. Lord Howe Island is part of Australia and has two significant peaks and the island is pretty chilled out. There are limited numbers of people allowed on Lord Howe Island at one time. Go snorkelling on the reefs for a great view of the ocean.

A tiny island in Fiji with a big reputation is Beachcomber Island. It is a party island where at daytime the party goers just love to sun bake or go jet skiing or water skiing. Tonga is more than a hundred islands and you could start with sight seeing on a quad bike. A cart safari will take you on a secret tour to the out of the way places to see things like fruit bats who fly with their young attached. It is a good area for whale watching. The coastline towers above the sea and you can sit on the top of a cliff just watching the waves break on the cliffs.

A day in the life of a Snowmaker!
  
The recent snowfalls have certainly placed a beautiful white blanket across Perisher Blue, putting smiles on everyone’s faces. This hasn’t meant that our snowmakers can now take it easy. The old adage “make hay while the sun shines” (or make snow when the conditions are right) applies. In the months of June and July in particular, snowmaking either assists in enabling the Resort to open or enhances the natural snowfall.
